Nestled in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, Tarangire National Park spans 2,850 km² of golden plains, acacia woodlands, and iconic baobab trees. Named after the Tarangire River, which sustains wildlife during the dry season, the park is famous for its impressive elephant herds, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. The park’s landscapes shift with the seasons: the dry months (June–October) concentrate wildlife around waterholes, creating perfect game-viewing opportunities, while the rainy season transforms Tarangire into a lush, green paradise. Over 500 bird species inhabit the park, making it a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
